John gave us an overarching view of God’s judgment in Revelation 14. Now, he’s going into detail on those judgments. This writing pattern was common at the time.
The bowl judgments are the 3rd and last judgments in Revelation (after the 7 seals and 7 trumpets). These are the last judgments, bringing God’s judgments to completion.
Fun Fact: Revelation 15 is the shortest chapter in Revelation.
We’ve seen the 7 plagues mentioned in Leviticus 26:21. This is God’s judgment against the world.
The word used here for wrath in Greek is thymos, which is an extreme form of anger used only 11 times in the entire Bible. We see it 10 times in the Book of Revelation, showing how God’s anger is at its peak. God’s anger will be complete here.
The sea of glass reflects God’s holiness in His divine judgment.
