3) Light symbolizes God and His Kingdom. The darkness is Satan and his domain. The Word, which is Jesus. Children of God as those who believe in Jesus and gain everlasting life. All are meaningful to me.
4) Jesus is the Word (verse 1). He has existed from the beginning (verse 2). He gives all of us life (verse 4). He is the light of the world (verse 4). Those who believe in him become children of God (verse 12). He became flesh to be with us (verse 14). Through Jesus, we can see God’s glory (verse 18).
5a) John the Baptist testified to who Jesus was (the Lamb of God). Disciples followed Jesus (Andrew and Simon Peter and Philip and Nathanael).
b) Many people, when they heard who Jesus was, followed him. Today, it’s the same. Jesus continues to touch lives in miraculous ways.
6) Only God has the power to save us, so it’s fitting that we believe in a God (aka Jesus) who saves us.
